BUMI Recognized as Coal Champion for ESG & Sustainability Business Principles by TrenAsia 2023

PT Bumi Resources Tbk., (“BUMI” or “The Company”) won the prestigious award in the Coal Champion for ESG & Sustainability Business Principles by TrenAsia 2023. This award was received by Achmad Reza Widjaja, Ph.D., VP Investor Relations – Chief Economist, representing the President Director of BUMI, Adika Nuraga Bakrie, conferred by the Sukirno - Chief Executive Officer of PT Tren Media Berjejaring at the Raffles Hotel, Jakarta (30/8).
Sukirno in his speech, “This award is given to companies that are committed to implementing ESG (Environmental, Social and
Governance) business principles.”
“Congratulations to Bumi Resources for winning the TrenAsia ESG Award 2023 in the coal company category. Hopefully this award could motivate and set an example to other companies in Indonesia,” said Sukirno.
Chairman of the TrenAsia ESG Award Jury, Mas Achmad Daniri said, “ESG aspects have become a very important topic for business players, governments and investors. In addition, our public awareness of ESG is currently increasing. Not only can companies pursue profits and large returns, but focus on how these profits have a positive impact on the environment and society. This is also proven by companies that have prioritized ESG in which they have become more resilient and are able to provide sustainable investment results.”
