PT Fajar Bumi Sakti (“FBS”) was established on 26 September 1978. Its scope of activities comprises mining and general trading. The company acquired FBS through Leap Forward Finance Ltd.

FBS’s 988 hectare mine is located in Loa Ulung, Tenggarong, East Kalimantan, and has 14 million tonnes of coal reserves.

In 2006, FBS received a new concession of 4,008 hectares in Gunung Sari Village, Tabang, East Kalimantan. In 2007, FBS received a 4,995 hectare concession area in Buluk Seng Village, Tabang, East Kalimantan, with 100 million tonnes of coal reserves.

FBS operates using two mining methods; underground and open-pit, both of which are applied in Loa Ulung, Tenggarong. Meanwhile, in Tabang area, FBS only uses the open-pit mining method.
