
Appointed as Director of the Company in May 2012. Mr Slack joined Price Waterhouse in Sydney, Australia, in 1976 and transferred to work with their associate firm in Jakarta from 1978. In 1983, Mr Slack joined PT Jan Darmadi Corporation as Treasurer and then worked as the Finance and Accounting Manager of PT KPC during that company’s period of mine construction in 1989 to 1991. Mr Slack then took up an appointment as CFO Indonesia for Standard Chartered Bank for four years followed by an assignment as KPMG, Melbourne’s Senior Manager of Asia Business Group. In 1996 he joined an American listed corporation, El Paso Energy in a joint venture to finance, build and operate Indonesia’s first Independent Power Project in Sengkang, South Sulawesi. In 1999, Mr Slack transferred to Manila as Finance Director and CFO of El Paso Energy’s subsidiary, East Asia Power, before returning to Indonesia when appointed as Finance Director of PT Astra International Tbk in November 2000. During his work with Astra, Mr Slack was also appointed Commissioner at PT Astra Agro Lestari TBK, PT Toyota Astra Motor, PT Astra Graphia Tbk and a number of the motor cycle and motor vehicle finance companies in the group. After his retirement from the Board in 2005, Mr Slack has carried out successful finance and operational assignments including serving as the Business Director for the British International School in Jakarta. In 2011 he was appointed as Commissioner to the Board of PT Jakarta Setiabudi Internasional Tbk, one of Indonesia’s oldest and largest property and hotel company. John Slack was educated in London, UK and graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Engineering as a Chemical Engineer. Subsequently he qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Born in Beckenham, S.E. London, UK on 14 September 1949, Mr Slack holds dual UK and Australian nationalities. |
